SB 418
The Pajaro Valley Health Care District was established by California Senate Bill 418. This bill specifies that a local hospital district designated as the Pajaro Valley Health Care District is hereby formed within the counties of Santa Cruz and Monterey, and goes on to define the territory of the District. The bill dictates that the District may be organized, incorporated, and managed as provided pursuant to existing health care district law, and may exercise the powers granted or necessary, only if the relevant county board of supervisors chooses to appoint an initial Board of Directors, as specified. The Santa Cruz County board of supervisors did appoint the intitial board. More information about the formation of the District can be found on our About page.
Bylaws
California State Law requires that healthcare districts have adopted bylaws. Bylaws regulate the way a healthcare district is governed. The bylaws are established by the Board of Directors and legally guide the District in operations. Within the bylaws, the specific roles, duties and responsibilities for the Board of Directors and executive staff are defined.
